With more then 12.6 million children at risk of hunger nationwide, grants from Share Our Strength's Great American Bake Sale support many local organizations that provide children with the nutritious meals they need to thrive. We Knead Your Dough to End Childhood Hunger brings together New York's artisan baking community to support this effort by doing what it does best: baking bread and sharing knowledge, offering classes, seminars anf discussions to the trade and to the public, with all proceeds benefiting Share Our Strength's Great American Bake Sale.

The Institute of Culinary Education is doing its part with help of pioneer artisan bread maker, Dan Leader of Bread Alone, offering a hands-on bread baking class featuring recipes from his acclaim ed cookbook, Local Breads. The class will feature signature breads such as:

• Four Hour Baguette;
• Pain Altamura;
• French Sourdough;
• Green Olive and Grape Harvest Foccacia
